A fire burning, consuming all that I am
A blackness settling in my soul eating away at all I once was
No one to save me, no one to care
Oh how the mighty have fallen
Golden wings ablaze
The flames rising ever higher as I fall
My soul is no more
Green eyes long since turned ebon
Blood plays at my lips
A silent scream
An echoing prayer
Heavens golden children can only take so much
Not the first to fall
The last to lose it all
Oh father who art in heaven
Why hast thou forsaken me
I’ve done all that was asked
Carried out your orders flawlessly
Why do you now turn away from all that I’ve done
All you asked of your golden child
I know now I was not the first you cast away in disgust
Oh father, sweet arrogant father
Sitting safely on your throne above
How naive you’ve grown
You’ve started your own demise
This vengeful war raging beneath your royal feet
How now does it feel to watch your golden children
Slaughter your once pure angelic creatures
Those poor pitiful creatures brainwashed by millennia
In you’re far too bright light
The children you’ve forsaken and thrown from your side
Have risen once more under the golden prince
His golden princess fighting by his side
Is this what you feared father
When you threw your son from heaven
When you saw too much of his golden beauty
His fierce wildness in me
Oh how does it feel sweet arrogant father of ours
To watch your “faithful” children die at the hands of your demons
The monsters you created and cast from your side
Why won’t you step down from you jeweled throne
Smite those that would harm your precious angels
Or are you so weak now
That looking upon his golden tear stained cheeks
That you cannot finish what was by your hand begun
Oh how the mighty have fallen
When you, all mighty father
Cannot kill your golden children
Instead cruelly binding our wings and casting us from heavens door
You could not kill us by your own hand
Lo now the golden prince and his fierce princess have returned home
To cast thy traitor from his throne
Raven eyes burning holes through thy traitorous blackened soul
I see now, why we were cast from heaven
Only thy golden children could see you for the demon in saints clothing
You really were
Oh sweet arrogant father
Who art in hell
Thou should have ended us
Before thy fall
Behold sweet children
How the mighty have fallen
